John Yen Wong

AREAA Chairman Emeritus

John had owned and managed real estate companies for 16 years. He is currently a Broker Associate with “eXp Realty” and has worked with clients from across the globe. Now beginning his 5th decade in the industry, John has supervised or been the direct broker in 1,000s of real estate transactions, including those with Asian clients, domestic and global. In 2003, Realtor Magazine named John as one the 25 most influential people in real estate. In 2011, the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers inducted John into its “Hall of Leaders.” John is the Founding Chairman of the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA) with more than 17,000 members across North America.

Tim Hur

2022 AREAA National President

Tim Hur is a national speaker who has been actively selling for 14 years since graduating from Georgia Institute of Technology. He currently the Managing Broker for Point Honors and Associates, REALTORS, a boutique real estate firm located in Metro Atlanta, but was also the previous Director of Inclusion for BHGRE Corporate. He is the current National President of the Asian Real Estate Association of America (AREAA), with AREAA being the largest AAPI trade association in the United States with 17,000 members and 43 chapters. He will be the first openly LGBTQ President to lead the association.

Vanessa Shields

Deputy Director at AREAA

Vanessa is the Deputy Director at the Asian Real Estate Association of America, the largest Asian American Pacific Islander membership based non-profit trade organization in the United States. At AREAA, Vanessa produces events and cultural content, and collaborates with top industry leaders and sponsors to further AREAA’s mission of promoting sustainable homeownership opportunities for the AAPI community. Prior to joining AREAA, Vanessa worked in San Diego real estate where she produced an architectural lecture series in Point Loma and created conceptual open houses that featured home design and food.
